Flood of epic proportions in South TX

You are here: Home / Agriculture / Flood of epic proportions in South TX

October 12, 2017 By Landviser

Record amount of water. Rivers overflowing. Just how bad is it? I was checking live USGS Mapper reporting live water flow rate and water level in rivers, streams and bayous. Couple examples:

Near Alvin, TX – flow rate is more than 10 times than max in last 55 years, 200 times more than mean. Flooded since Aug 26th.

Near Wharton, TX – 10 times more than 78 year max; 50 times more than mean. Flooded since Aug 28.

Likely Harvey seems to go toward East TX/LA. Live Harvey Path map with markers to water level – you can check your near-by waterway for up to date info.

But still – more rain falling upon us. It would take several days for all of this water to clear away. And since we have no place/way to go…

We just stay put in our home office. If you need help, supplies, information or just words of reassurance, please, reach out to us. Be safe and stay strong!
